Han Yuan’s 5th paper and her third in Organometallics entitled “Syntheses and Characterizations of Pd(II) Complexes Incorporating a N-Heterocyclic Carbene and Aromatic N-Heterocycles” is now available as an ASAP online article.

Basu’s first paper entitled “Dipalladium bis(µ-isopropylthiolato) complexes with a [Pd₂S₂] core supported by N-heterocyclic carbenes” has just been accepted for publication in Organometallics. Well done!

I have been invited to give an “Invited Communication” at the ICOMC 2008 – 23rd International Conference on Organometallic Chemistry in Rennes, France.

I finally saw Black Sabbath live on 27th October in Fort Canning Park…and it was only my 2nd rock concert in Sinagpore after 3 years. What a sad sign! I probably work too much ;p Anyway, Iommi, Butler, Appice and Dio still rock at that age. Amazing…, too bad it was too short.

Han Yuan’s 6th paper “Palladium(II) Pyrazolin-4-ylidenes: Remote N-Heterocyclic Carbene Complexes and Their Catalytic Application in Aqueous Suzuki-Miyaura Coupling” has just been accepted for publication in Organometallics. This is also our first full paper on complexes of novel remote N-heterocyclic carbenes.

HRG members are teaching Organometallics and the lab practical for the PSB academy (a member of TÜV SÜD) course “CHEM2211 Synthetic and Materials Chemistry”.

Yesterday the group celebrated basu’s and the boss’ birthday with cake, pizza and chicken wings.

Our manuscript “Syntheses and Characterizations of Pd(II) Complexes incorporating a N-Heterocyclic Carbene and Aromatic N-Heterocycles” has just been accepted for publication by Organometallics. This will be Han Yuan’s 3rd Organometallics paper, and for that she must give her nice boss an even bigger treat.
